About OT by the Bay

Where connection, rapport and fun comes first

Claire and Therapy dog Amber

About me:

Hi there — I’m so glad you’re here!
I’m Claire, an Occupational Therapist with over 12 years of experience, graduating from Otago Polytechnic in 2013. Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to work across New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Australia, taking on a variety of roles that have shaped the way I practice today.

For the past five years, I’ve been immersed in the assistance-animal field, and more recently I’ve been working in a fabulous paediatric clinic. I have extensive experience working with children and adults across a broad spectrum of neurodivergent and developmental conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Global Developmental Delay, Intellectual Impairment, Depression, Anxiety and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Outside of work, life is full and fun with two energetic little ones and one very smiley golden retriever who brings joy (and plenty of fur) to every day life.

Now, I’m bringing together my love for the outdoors and the wonderful bond I share with my dog to create OT by the Bay. I offer nature therapy, animal-assisted therapy, and school visits, all designed to be engaging, calming, and tailored to each individual.

My goal is to provide holistic, nature-based therapy experiences that support growth, confidence, and wellbeing — all in a relaxed, welcoming environment where kids and teens can truly thrive.

I can’t wait to meet you by the bay!
